Home Search

A new platform in the apartment rental market, providing useful information, a better way of communication and time-saving searching system.

This project was created as part of the Advanced UX/UI Course by Sagi Shrieber

Meet Noa,

In a survey conducted among 46 people between the ages of 20-40 the following pain point appeared as most prominent for apartment searching.

In order to understand the problems in searching for an apartment with existing platforms, we need to understand the frustration of Noa's current Journey using apps like Facebook and Yad2.

A moment of enlightenment: While searching online for other solutions for house searching, Noa stumbles upon the next ad,
which triggers her to investigate some more about this new platform called Home Search:

And thus, the search begins

After a detailed onboarding process where Noa creates a profile and describes her ideal home with different filters, she starts searching for apartments. On a typical ad she will find details about the property and neighborhood, a review system (open only to those who have seen the property) accurate the owner's description by updating a total expectation rate and an automatic schedule system.

The Private Zone

After scheduling to see an apartment, Noa goes to her private zone where all her information is saved and organized. She can see her schedule, manage ads that she saved and see matches suggested by the platform according to the data from her profile.

The Owner's Private Zone

In order to understand better what happens once Noa sends a request to see the property, let's have a look at the owner's side of the platform, and understand the benefits for both sides. The owner has a dashboard quite similar to Noa's private zone, where she can manage her appointments, get new matches, and even proceed for signing the contract.

Building the System

Building the visual language of this product, I did a visual research for competing platforms from the real estate and rental market. I chose green and purple as the primary colors for their assuring, positive and relaxing qualities. I wanted to create an abstract and modular icon system to feat future features and targets.
