Global Roots

A master project in which I created four different surfaces that match together in one room, using different materials in a unified language. The starting point of this project was a childhood memory regarding Spanish lullabies my mother used to sing to me.  In my design I want to keep alive what was forgotten. Bringing my own personal past and simplifying it to a global one that can be empathized by anyone. I wanted to create a feeling, a nostalgic yearning to the past. Not a specific one but one we can identified with, that we know is there, that we experienced and that is reminded to us in this timeless design.
